Actress Park Ha Sun Confirms for “Temptation,” Starring Kwon Sang Woo and Choi Ji Woo
Actress Park Ha Sun, who previously starred in “Two Weeks” and “Three Days,” has been confirmed as one of the female leads for the upcoming drama “Tempation,” starring Kwon Sang Woo, Choi Ji Woo, and Lee Jung Jin.
Park Ha Sun will be playing the role of Cha Seok Hoon (Kwon Sang Woo)’s selfless wife, Na Hong Joo, who is always yielding to what others want. When Cha Seok Hoon and Na Hong Joo meet a woman named Se Young (Choi Ji Woo) in Hong Kong, conflict starts to develop between the couple. The role of Na Hong Joo was previously declined by actress Yoon Eun Hye.
The new drama “Temptation” will air after the end of “Doctor Stranger.”
In related news, this drama will be an 11-year reunion for Kwon Sang Woo and Choi Ji Woo, who previously starred together in the drama “Stairway to Heaven.”
In light of Yoon Eun Hye’s unavailability to shoot the drama Temptation because of movie obligations (she’s shooting “Chronicle of a Blood Merchant”), Park Ha Sun has stepped in to take over the role of Kwon Sang Woo‘s wife. It’s about time they cast the other lead in this uncomfortable love triangle, as the drama is set to air quite soon.
Park will play Na Hong Joo, the wife to the sacrificing Cha Seok Hoon (Kwon Sang Woo), who gets himself involved with another woman, Yoo Se Young (Choi Ji Woo). I think it’s quite exciting to see Kwon and Choi back together again onscreen after Stairway to Heaven. I get this feeling that Choi will out-act Kwon Sang Woo by miles, as she’s proven that she can do some comedy and is willing to go out of her usual acting territory for a role. (See: The Suspicious Housekeeper.) Perhaps this might make Kwon a better actor too and encourage him to act better than looking like a tortured victim all the time.
Granted, I have not watched a Kwon Sang Woo drama in a long time. Mainly because I don’t feel like watching him be a tortured victim all the time.
I have no doubts that Park will knock the role out of the park as she could totally pull off being a demure wife with guts (if the script calls for some gutsy action from the heroine). I do think it’s a bit of an odd pairing, but then again the drama may not center on her so much as Choi Ji Woo, and so we won’t necessarily be seeing her quite often with Kwon Sang Woo. I do admire that Park likes to pick diverse roles. She’s done historicals, comedy, sitcom, and action. And now she’s delving into really melodramatic territory here and starring with two of the biggest Hallyu stars of all time. It’s a pretty sweet gig.
